Blue Chip was formed in 1987 by founder Brian Meredith, who today sits as Managing Director on the Board of Directors.
With over 30-years’ experience, Blue Chip provides businesses with mission-critical IT support and infrastructure behind many of the largest brands in the UK. Specialising in mission critical systems through our Tier III and Tier IV by design data centres, we provide the e-commerce backbone for high street retailers whilst managing 10% of the UK’s banking traffic, keeping business running all over the world. From hardware and hosting to software and support, we work to advance your IT – making it work harder for your business.
Our customers rely on us to take care of their infrastructure, so they can focus on their core business activities. We achieve this by working collaboratively with our customers, listening to their unique needs and using our industry knowledge to create IT solutions that enable them to grow and compete. At Blue Chip, we put our customers at the heart of everything we do. We deliver a personal service by providing every customer with their own named counterpart.
As we can recommend and supply end-to-end solutions, our customers can come to us for all of their IT needs. If you would like to know more or meet the team, get in touch.
Blue Chip is a people business, and we believe that core values set excellent businesses apart. While technologies and platforms evolve continually, Blue Chip’s strategy is still guided by three core principles from its founding: a spirit of engineering excellence, a commitment to exceptional service through exceptional people, and a passion for efficiency.
We are IBM specialists – a longstanding IBM Platinum Business and Power Cloud Partner, with particular expertise on IBM Power and Z series infrastructure. While we’re proud of our close relationship with IBM, we also offer the same market-leading services across vendors, with many of our customers running Windows or Linux systems.
Sustainability is a key element of our ethos. We own and operate two market-leading data centres in the UK, one Tier 4 by design and one Tier 3, both of which are carbon neutral. They have a Power Usage Effectiveness of 1.1 – making them some of the greenest facilities in Europe.
