Our two data centres are Tier IV and III by design, so we can guarantee the highest levels of uptime and availability. Our sites are physically secure, with both sites manned 24 hours a day by Blue Chip staff. There are also eight concentric layers of physical security, including measures such as palletised fencing, dual factor authentication, proximity cards and biometrics. CCTV surveillance is constantly in operation, along with unauthorised access alarms to deter intruders. There are also full audit trails of every individuals’ movements within the data centres.
Our facilities meet the high security standards required for us to maintain our ISO27001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 22301 and SOC2 accreditations. We can ensure that any of your racks within our data centres are compliant for PCI-DSS hosting, which is particularly robust when combined with our PCI-DSS Cloud, as we can then provide you with PCI-DSS services that cover all 12 PCI requirements.

Our data centres are Tier IV and Tier III by design, the industry standard is Tier III. The difference between Tier IV and Tier III is 69.7 minutes every year of non-guaranteed availability, which is significant.
The facilities have multiple external power feeds, which have independent substations. Our Tier IV data centre follows the design standard of 2 x (N+1), and our Tier III data centre follows the design standard of N+1. This design standard is used for our UPS, generator, fuel tanks, and cooling.
We have stringent testing regimes for all of our equipment and proactively carry out full load tests every 3 months. Both sites, if required, could run on generators indefinitely, and we contract with multiple fuel suppliers to ensure we have a diverse supply chain to avoid any contamination risks.

We’re proud to have achieved a Power Usage Efficiency (PUE) of 1.1 for our data centres, as we strive to operate as a carbon neutral organisation. We have our own patented eco-cooling system in place in our data centres, which involves using Adiabiatic cooling, floor voids, cold aisle containment and warm air recycling to keep our data centres at the ideal temperatures.
Our PUE rating means that we’re ranked among some of the most sustainable facilities in Europe, and we’re also ISO 4001 certified, which means that we meet the internationally agreed standard for our Environmental Management System (EMS).
