Bringing joy to the UK
There have been two big announcements recently that have brought joy to many people in the UK. The first of these announcements being the Prime Minister’s plan to emerge out of lockdown, which I am sure many would say is the best thing to come out of 2021. The days of beer gardens and get-togethers will soon be among us once more. However, this is not the only announcement to spark the UK’s interest.
Blue Chip were acquired by the US’s leading third-party maintenance provider, Service Express, on 1st February. Although we officially became one company, Blue Chip and Service Express have been working in partnership to deliver critical-IT break-fix maintenance to shared customers for several years now.
A collaboration focused on service
It is well known across the IT industry in the UK that Blue Chip is leading the way in providing mission-critical IT infrastructure services, with the main emphasis being delivering an exemplary customer service to our customers. This attitude towards service is what differentiates us from other third party maintenance providers and it is why Blue Chip and Service Express are the perfect fit. Our values and objectives resonate with Service Express and the aim to provide the best experience for our customers, partners, and employees.
I hear many stories when talking to clients about the poor service they have received from larger global organisations and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), especially around missing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and difficulty logging support calls. These tiny details, which are often overlooked by the service provider, could be the difference between your critical systems functioning or failing.
With a range of SLAs to meet your business’s needs, highly trained accredited multi-vendor engineers and an unrivalled logistical operation, we are uniquely positioned to support you and your customers infrastructure.
Contrary to many service providers, we keep our spare parts close to our engineers. This means we are confident we can provide more first-time fixes than any other. This is also strengthened by the expertise of Service Express. With over 20,000 square feet of shelf space in the distribution centre, we act as our own single largest parts vendor. We also source parts directly from Dell, HPE, Cisco and many of our other trusted partners.
Extended hardware support portfolio across the globe
When Brian Meredith founded Blue Chip in 1987, IBM is all we knew. Since then, Blue Chip has been the UK’s leading IBM experts for IT hardware maintenance and managed services, with a plethora of accredited engineers and technicians. We even maintain more IBM Power Systems than the OEM in the UK.
However, over the last decade we have added many strings to our vendor bow, and this been bolstered further by Service Express’s expertise and capabilities.
We now accredited to support 15 vendors covering servers, storage, data warehousing, networking, and tape:
- IBM Netezza
- Juniper Networks
As mentioned, we have now broadened our scope across the globe with the help of Service Express and we have tried, tested, and trusted partners in many locations.
The simplicity of one
Do you find that you have many maintenance contracts with several providers, with separate contracts expiring at numerous times? This can even be an issue knowing which provider supports which kit, and in an event of a system going down – knowing who to call is paramount. We know how frustrating and unhelpful this can be, and that is why our maintenance service is superior to most.
We can consolidate all maintenance contracts into one. This means you have one number to call, one contract to maintain, and one bill to pay. If you value the importance of IT asset management and you are looking to simplify your approach, we would be happy to advise.
Although this announcement may not provide you with hope of freedom in the coming months, it will provide your organisation with an unmatched level of service and support, no matter where your equipment resides.
Please get in touch if you have any queries regarding this acquisition or our services.
