Blue Chip is part of Bedfordshire’s top 100
What have we got in common with two pub chains, a carpet outlet and Luton Town FC?
The answer is that we feature in Bedfordshire Limited’s Top 100, a report which compiles the financial performance of Bedfordshire’s leading privately owned companies. The economic measuring is carried out by accountancy firm Grant Thornton in associated with the Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce.
Although the county has been historically renowned for agriculture, lace-making and millinery, the leading companies cover a modern and diverse range of needs. A wide palette of industries is the result, including automotive, leisure, aviation, education and healthcare. Naturally, Blue Chip is one of the outstanding stars of Bedfordshire’s technology sector, with a strong financial position that reflects its position and reputation in managed IT services.
The report uses accounting data up to May 2018. Since then we have successfully launched the award-nominated Blue Chip Cloud, which is a highly flexible, resilient and agile platform for hosting IT platforms for industry, retail and financial institutions. This astounding innovation has galvanised the relationship between ourselves and our customer base, plus it has helped us pick up new business. Through this investment, we’re confident of another strong showing in next year’s report.
In summary, we’re pleased to be included in this list of leading local companies. It’s more than just proving we’re literally a ‘blue chip company’, we have enormous pride in the local area. Our headquarters sit in the county town of Bedford and we contribute positively to the local area. For example, we’ve been main shirt sponsors of local rugby club Bedford Blues since 2014 and we’ve established tree-planting projects at the Forest Of Marston Vale.
The geographical position is also a fantastic advantage, as we’re placed equidistant between the UK’s two major trunk roads, the M1 and A1. Our two data centres, located in and around Bedford, are just far enough outside of the M25 to be attractive to London-based businesses. We’re also a 40-minute train journey away from the capital and London Luton Airport is even closer.
As we continue to serve over 700 companies around the world and strengthen our reputation in technology and hardware maintenance, it’s great to see we’re helping put Bedfordshire on the map.
