Job Title:   Senior Network & Security Engineer                                        

Department:   Technical Services                                          

Job Summary:   As Senior Network Engineer, you will work as a part of a driven team to support mission-critical, fast-paced project deployments. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service/communications skills and planning experience.

Duties:   Essential Day to Day responsibilities for the Network & Security Engineer:

·         LAN/WAN design and implementation

·         Security design and implementation

·         Produce detailed design documentation based on architectural standards. This will include physical and logical designs and configurations including implementation of these configurations.

·         Work with architectural and design teams to ensure accuracy of designs and standards compliance.

·         Maintain internal and customer connectivity to ensure service level agreements are met and take the lead in the resolution of customer issues when required.

·         Responding to Data Centre monitoring systems and issues raised by clients or internal departments.

  • Ensure the implementation of good practice and compliance with internal procedures, routines and protocol.

Skills & Attributes:

·         Senior/expert knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches, load balancing and security concepts:

o   Routing technologies (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF) including VRF

o   Switching technologies (VPC, Spanning Tree, Cisco Nexus 7K, 5K and 2K. Catalyst 6500 & 4500 series Switches)

o   Other Networking Technologies (HSRP, VRRP, SVI)

o   Firewalls – Checkpoint / Cisco

o   Load balancing technologies - F5 / Riverbed

·         5+ years in Network Support and Design roles

·         Analytical and detail oriented

·         VPN technologies specifically IPSec, SSL VPN, LAN to LAN and Remote Access VPN

·         Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Able to work as part of a team.

·         Have thorough knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and be able to troubleshoot connectivity issues using Wireshark/Tcpdump.

·         Knowledge of data centre L2/L3 principals and devices.

·         CCDP/CCNP certified - strong preference will be given to achievement or progress towards CCIE.
